Some hailed OpenAI’s new Q* project, unveiled in November 2023, as the technical leap needed to build a class of AI models “vastly more capable” than any that exist today.
Reports are coming out that OpenAI, the company behind creator ChatGPT, is building a new AI model called “Strawberry” to attain human-level artificial intelligence with advanced reasoning.
Strawberry would scan the internet autonomously and reliably perform what OpenAI describes as “deep research” in a way that allows it to solve more complex real-world problems at scale, according to a July 12 report by Reuters.
Everything from making huge scientific discoveries to building new kinds of software applications would be possible, Reuters said after speaking with an OpenAI spokesperson, who added:
“We want our AI models to see and understand the world more like we do. Continuous research into new AI capabilities is a common practice in the industry, with a shared belief that these systems will improve in reasoning over time.”
Strawberry aims to achieve this by conducting an extensive “post-training” analysis of OpenAI’s existing AI models to craft more humanlike responses. Please provide more details to meet the minimum word requirement for paraphrasing.
